This site comprises a selection of journals scribbled over several decades while travelling across seven continents and seventy plus countries, whilst enjoying food and wine, geography, history, culture, wildlife, cooking, painting and shopping, architecture and art.

Along the way, travel has provided me with a resource of thousands of photographs from which to draw in my leisurely pursuit of painting in my studio; i.e. 'home-based pootling'.
